Melanoma


It is a type of skin cancer which affects the melanocytes (melanin producing cells in the skin), the exact cause of melanoma is not known but it may trigger with increased exposure to UV radiation and also by genetic and environmental factors. It can also occur in the area like soles, palms and fingernail beds (which common in darker skin). Few factors that may increase the risk of melanoma are




  1. Family history of melanoma


  2. Excessive exposure to UV radiation


  3. Unusual moles


  4. Weak immunity
