Skin pigmentation Disorder


Pigmentation is simply coloring. Our skin gets it color from the pigment called melanin which is produced by a special type of cells called melanocytes. Pigmentation disorders generally affect the color of our skin. We observe small patches on the skin as a result of pigmentation disorders. The higher the melanin produced the darker will be our skin, pregnancy, Addison’s disease and more sun exposure will also effect the skin color. Hyper pigmentation is common but sometimes it can be due to some underlying diseased conditions.
